Obama-Romney Debate – Round 1 Score
The Star-Ledger Staff on the NJ.com website summed up the results of the first presidential debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney by pointing out that
Romney’s debate performance was presidential game changer, analysts say.
It’s a good article giving inputs from various sources. I especially like the animated cartoon by Frank Cecala of The Star-Ledger. However, in spite of all the blows and the ‘Pow’s, neither character seems to be hurt by the blows. I hope that my parody, which is based on a photo from the ‘Mohammad Ali and Joe Frazier match is better at depicting the pain that a blow to the stomach entails.
While the victory has re-energized the Romney base, Steve Kraske of The Kansas City Star points out that Neither Romney nor Obama score knockout in first debate. The polls at RealClear Politics website do show a bounce for Romney. Whether Romney will continue to close the gap as the news sink in is anybody’s guess. One thing for certain, you can count on artparodies to continue the coverage of rounds 2 and 3 of the debate!
The September Job Report
According to CNN Money, the September jobs report probably won’t sway election. I did come across a humorous comment by Sphyg on that article at about 3 am PDT as follows:
Snow White, Superman and Pinocchio are walking along.
They see a sign: “Contest for World’s Most Beautiful Woman.” Snow White goes in, later comes out smiling, wearing a crown.
They walk along and see another sign: “Contest for World’s Strongest Man.” Superman goes in, later comes out smiling, wearing the belt.
They walk along and see a sign: “Contest for World’s Greatest Liar.” Pinocchio goes in, later comes out with his head down crying.
“Who the hell is Mitt Romney?” Pinocchio sobs.
