Super Tuesday Parody on Romney, Santorum, Gingrich and Paul

GOP Super Tuesday parodyThe Republican Super Tuesday calls for a parody on the four GOP presidential candidates still in the race for the presidential nomination. With apologies to Marvel Comics, I am doing a parody on their Super Heroes. In this parody, Mitt Romney is is Thor, Rick Santorum is Captain America, Newt Gingrich is the Incredible Hulk and Ron Paul the Iron Man.The polls today (Sunday) according to Real Clear Politics shows Romney ahead of the field by 9.4% with 36.7% average in the three polls that it monitors. The rest of the field shows 27.3% for Santorum, 15.3% for Gingrich and 9.7% for Paul. Keep in mind that the polls represent a national average and not necessary the states with the primaries on Tuesday. These polls had shown a greater than 3 point lead for Santorum prior to the Michigan and Arizona primaries. We now know that the polls were wrong.

With 419 delegates up for grabs, these may be the primaries that lead to Mitt Romney fully pulling away from the rest of the candidates. The news that Eric Cantor has finally endorsed Romney, may be indicative that the tea party conservatives are finally ready to back Romney in spite of their reservations? The fact that Cantor is from one of the Super Tuesday state of Virgina is a plus for Romney. The continued in-fighting really is bound to hurt the Repulicans’ chances in November when their canidate of choice faces Barack Obama.

With Newt Gingrinh and Ron Paul vowing to carry on the challenge up to the Republican Nomination Convention, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I have enjoyed the see-saw in the fight so far, but it looks like that Romney will emerge from Super Tuesday as the clear choice for the Republicans.
